The Greek community provides a variety of social opportunities. A balance between academics, campus involvement and social activities helps Greeks to become well-rounded and successful young men and women. Events throughout the year include a variety of formal and informal dances as well as exchanges with other Greeks. These activities allow people to relax and meet new students. Exchanges are often centered around a theme, such as rock decades or Hawaiian luaus, and allow fraternities and sororities to interact in a social setting. Alpha Gamma Delta also holds four dances throughout the school year; New Member Informal, Rose Formal, Spring Formal and Crush Dance. The first informal of the year is planned by the new pledge class. They are in charge of picking a theme and keeping it secret from the rest of the house until two days before the dance. This causes a rush of excitement as all the girls rush to find a creative and fun outfit. Our formal dances are held at a local banquet site where the girls and their dates eat dinner and dance the night away (plus we get to rewear all of those dresses from high school or just borrow from our sisters). Dances and exchanges are both events that the entire house looks forward to going to!
