Here at Alpha Gamma Delta, we work hard to achieve a balance between academics and other activities, such as clubs, sports, jobs, philanthropic activities, and social events. Evidence that we are doing so successfully is abundant! We have had the highest grade point average of all sororities on Illinois Wesleyan's campus for the past twenty-one out of twenty-two semesters. Our overall grade point average for the spring semester was 3.372/4.0, and we are working very hard to achieve the number one position again this fall.
Scholarship is not only very important to Xi Chapter, but to all Alpha Gamma Delta chapters! Our organization is raising its standards with a Nationwide Fraternity goal in mind to have an overall GPA of 3.14. We are well above the national requirements of our fraternity and are very proud of this accomplishment. In fact, for the 2003-2004 and the 2004-2005 school years, our Chapter had the highest grade point average of all Alpha Gamma Delta chapters in our division and was therefore granted the prestigious Rose Bowl Award.

Our chapter works together to ensure everyone reaches her potential in the academic arena. Each year we have a list of tutors comprised of members who are excelling in their area of study. We also have study hours set aside during which no events are scheduled to allow for uninterrupted study time. Further, each week we recognize girls who received A's on test, quizzes, and projects to award their achievements and encourage others to do the same. Finally, our chapter works to foster good relations with the professors at Illinois Wesleyan by holding an annual Scholarship Tea. Members invite their favorite professors to our house to enjoy refreshments and socialize.
The scholastic achievement of our members is of vital interest and concern to our Chapter. We give recognition for outstanding achievement each year, encourage each initiated member and new member to reach her academic potential, provide study programs, and offer guidance and help when it is needed. Xi Chapter is very proud of its academic achievements and is committed to maintaining these standards each semester!
